Three plenary meetings full of heated discussions organized within the framework of the IV Samarkand Forum on Human Rights made it possible to discuss issues related to the impact of climate change on human rights on a wide scale and on the basis of information analysis. The First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov spoke about this while concluding the work of the Forum.

  The Forum focused on developing concrete recommendations and solutions to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change on human rights. Lively discussions on this issue served as a platform for experts from various fields to develop effective strategies and approaches to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and protect the rights of all people in a changing climate.

A number of important results were noted at the end of the Samarkand Forum. In particular, it was agreed to establish a communication network and develop long-term cooperation between the participants of the Forum, to create a platform for constant information exchange and cooperation in the field of human environmental rights.

Specific recommendations for governments, international organizations and civil society to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change on human rights were developed and intensively debated. In order to increase public awareness of the relationship between climate change and human rights, it was emphasized the need to strengthen the work in the field of education and information.

To implement the Forum's recommendations, clear obligations have been set for its participants, including governments, organizations and civil society. In the post-Forum period, strategies and action plans were approved to implement the recommendations to effectively respond to climate change challenges.

Innovative initiatives to integrate the human rights perspective with the climate change adaptation strategy were supported.

Most importantly, within the framework of the international conference, exchange of experience and knowledge was worked and will learn the suggestions between different countries and regions in terms of more effective protection of human rights in the The final document of the forum was the Samarkand Declaration on Global Protection of Human Rights in the Face of Climate Change: Commitments and Efforts for a Sustainable Future.

The participants of the conference thanked the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for promoting the initiative to hold this Forum in his speeches at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly and the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

It was agreed to present the recommendations of the IV Samarkand Forum on Human Rights to the UN Secretary General and other international organizations.

At the end of the forum, its participants planted saplings with good intentions on the ancient and modern land of Samarkand.
