A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was held at Tashkent State University of Law on the topic “Ensuring Human Rights Protection: Modern Challenges and Scientific Initiatives”

The conference was attended by the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman), the Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for Children’s Rights, representatives of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute of State and Law, public organizations, the Institute of Democracy and Human Rights, faculty, researchers, and students of Tashkent State University of Law and other higher educational institutions, as well as media representatives.

The conference discussed issues such as promoting the restoration of the universality and indivisibility of human rights, developing dialogue on ensuring human rights protection based on internationally recognized standards; analyzing threats and challenges to human rights in the context of globalization, digitalization, and transnational crises, and proposing ways to overcome them; creating a platform for exchanging best practices between international organizations, government bodies, and representatives of the scientific community in the field of human rights protection; and discussing new methods of regulating relations between individuals, society, and the state in the context of new technologies and digital development, especially in areas like digital rights and personal data protection.

As a result of the conference, proposals and recommendations were developed concerning the impact of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international standards based on it on national legislation, the effects of digitalization on human rights protection processes, and potential issues that may arise when implementing digital human rights.
