As part of the IV Human Rights Forum, an award ceremony took place for the holders of the “Inson Huquqlari Himoyasi Uchun” (For the Protection of Human Rights) badge.
The solemn event was opened by Akmal Saidov, the Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights. He noted that it has become a good tradition to award this badge to foreign colleagues.
This year, the award was received by four representatives of foreign countries leading activities in human rights:
The Chief Ombudsman of the Republic of Türkiye, Şeref Malkoç, received this award for his contribution to the development of cooperation between Turkic-speaking countries in ensuring human rights;
Executive Director of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, Dr. Noura bint Zaid Al-Rashoud, for his contribution to the development of cooperation between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission;
Chairman of Oman Human Rights Commission Rashid Hamad Humaid Albalushi – for international cooperation in protecting and ensuring human rights;
Chairperson of the Qatar National Human Rights Committee Maryam bint Abdullah Al Attiyah – for international cooperation in the protection and promotion of human rights.
The badges were solemnly presented to the owners. The award of our colleague from Qatar was accepted by the Secretary General of Qatar National Human Rights Committee, Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali.
The “Inson Huquqlari Himoyasi Uchun” badge was established in 2020 on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to materially and morally stimulate citizens and organizations that have made a great contribution to the protection of human rights and freedoms, broaden the representation of those who set an example in the implementation of such activities, and popularize their experience.
